Turnip vegetable is mostly grown in temperate climates. However, this vegetable provides a variety of foodstuff that provides nutrients. The root of this vegetable is rich in Vitamin C; however, its green leaves are a good source of Vitamin A. Moreover, and this Vitamin A is good for vision.

Turnips provide a high amount of nutrition with a low amount of calories. However, this vegetable was used as a staple food in Europe before Potatoes. They are easy to grow and harvested in winter.

Allergies to vegetable and food are responsible for mild type of allergic reactions. Turnip allergy symptoms are often mild to moderate. However, the symptoms of food or vegetable allergy are observed in oral cavity with itching of the oral mucosa. Moreover, turnip allergy symptoms also include inflammation of the lips. Interestingly, a high prevalence of turnip allergy symptom is being noticed where it is commonly consumed as a raw vegetable. These symptoms range from mild reactions to some of the systematic reactions.

Babies have most sensitive type of immune system as well as weak digestive system. Therefore, if your baby is allergic to a specific food he will have symptoms within few hours of consuming that food. Some of the symptoms show itchy skin, red eyes and patches appearing on the skin such as hives. Babies can be offered solid types of foods between the ages of 4 to 6 months.

Among all other fruits and vegetables, turnips are a nutritious choice for your baby’s diet. That gives a full amount of minerals and vitamins to them. But if a turnip allergy runs in family then your baby’s might suffer from turnip allergy symptoms in babies. However, these vegetables cause your baby to develop the painful and uncomfortable feeling of gas.

The turnip allergy symptoms in babies include fussiness, crying and curling of the legs of your baby towards stomach. Therefore, a more severe type of allergy in babies is the shortness of breath and wheezing.  If your baby is having all these kinds of symptoms mentioned above then call the doctor right away.

It has said that one man’s food is another man’s poison. This means that different people react different to same food. Some of the individuals are sensitive to different fruits and vegetables. However, these sensitivities have a more common effect on our health. Most of the food sensitivities include food intolerance. Turnip allergy intolerance is different from turnip allergies.

Turnip allergy intolerance is the toxic reaction to food that does not involve the immune system. Therefore, food intolerance are much more difficult to diagnose. The symptoms of turnip allergy intolerance includes bloating, vomiting, blood in stool, eczema etc. They also involve different types of sensitivities to food. Although turnip allergy is associated with cow’s milk, wheat and fish etc. try to avoid the turnip fruit from your diet if it causing allergy.
