- Watery nose
- Rashes of the skin.
Most of the people think that allergy is often occurring in kids and infants, but this is not true, any age group can have allergy to nuts and almonds. They can have asthma, rhinitis etc. If a person has had previous contact with these dry fruits like almonds then their body develops sensitization and they may suffer from an allergic reaction. It may be considered as mild to moderate. But some of the reactions occur in severe form lead to shortness of breathing called anaphylactic shock. People who are allergic to almonds will feel discomfort while eating it. Some of the allergies include improper digestion or absorption of these nuts.

Almonds nuts are considered one of the fatal causes of allergic reactions in the whole world. Profilin compound present in almonds, comes in contact with your body, body overreacts with this protein and cause allergy. Although almonds have proteins that are beneficial for health but some of the people are allergic to these proteins.
The allergies include skin diseases like contact dermatitis, redness of skin and rashes. It may cause tingling in the hands and soles of feet, itching around the lips and mouth, swelling of the lips etc. When a person with nuts allergy, eats almond, there are red patches start forming on his skin that are white from center. These raised patches may cause itching and discomfort. Urticaria is another type of skin infection caused as a result of allergy. People having allergy to almonds also have allergy to other nuts. If people are using almond milk, it may lead them to nausea, diarrhea and most types of skin rashes. The allergy depends upon your age and your allergy severity.
Almond is also considered as a goiterogenic dry fruit which may affect the thyroid gland. It may cause enlargement of this gland. These people may face some of the other symptoms like runny nose and breathing troubles.
Almond Allergy Treatment:
The serious types of allergies caused by almonds need special type of diagnosis and treatment. People should go to their allergist for diagnosis. Allergist will take the history of the family allergy or any other type of fruit allergy, and then he will perform a skin prick test, to see the presence of allergen-specific immunoglobulin. The most common treatment of the fruit allergy is the avoidance of that fruit which causes allergic reactions.
Almonds are also used in baking goods and salads. For this reason people who are allergic to them should have to avoid these types of products.
Some people who develop anaphylactic shocks should have been treated with an auto-injector of epinephrine.
Antihistamines are also used to reduce the allergic inflammation.
For respiratory disorders, bronchodilators are used.
